Two dead in Montgomery murder-suicide; police identify woman
Montgomery police are investigating a murder-suicide that left a man and a woman dead.
Lt. Joseph Dunn tells Action 8 News that it happened around 6:38 p.m. Sunday in the 2400 block of Chase Park Drive. That location is just off Northern Boulevard.
Once officers arrived on the scene, they found an adult male with fatal injuries from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The unidentified man was pronounced dead on the scene.
Authorities also found a woman with life-threatening injuries. Police have identified the woman as 38-year-old Shanita Lewis of Montgomery. She was taken to the hospital where she later died from her injuries.
Montgomery police say the incident appears to be domestic-related.
