Child pornography suspect arrested in Autauga County

Autauga County Sheriff’s deputies say a child pornography suspect has been arrested after firing gunshots at them.

Sheriff Mark Harrell says 28-year-old Taylor Cox was arrested last night at a home on Autauga County Road 165. He was wanted on two felony counts of child pornography possession.

Harrell says as deputies were approaching the home, Cox fired several shots at law enforcement officers. He says Cox surrendered shortly afterward without further incident.

In addition to the original charges, Cox now faces pending charges in Autauga County for attempted murder of a law  enforcement officer.
