Mainly dry, very warm Tuesday; More rain/storms Wednesday night
The sky was partly to mostly cloudy and already very warm at midday Tuesday. Temperatures were near 80° at that point, and warm into the mid 80s Tuesday afternoon. Otherwise, Tuesday remains mainly dry with a partly cloudy sky on average. Low clouds and possibly fog develop again late Tuesday night, with low temperatures in the low 60s.
Much of Wednesday looks dry, but another round of showers and storms arrives Wednesday night. Some storms could be strong to severe, capable of damaging wind gusts and perhaps a brief tornado or two. The severe risk is greatest across far west Alabama, where the storms prediction center still places a slight (level 2/5) severe risk. A marginal (level 1/5) severe risk lies further east, on either side of I-65.
A line of storms stretches north to south across the state Wednesday night, and may not arrive in west Alabama until the late evening. The line moves quickly west to east across our area, with rain coming to a close in east Alabama fairly early Thursday morning. The line of showers/storms moves through our area along a cold front. With the front pushing to our southeast Thursday, our weather turns cooler and breezy with high temperatures only in the 60s.
Thursday night lows may fall into the upper 30s, or at least low to mid 40s. Friday looks mostly sunny and warmer, with highs in the low to mid 70s. This weekend looks mainly dry, with a mostly sunny sky Saturday. Sunday looks partly cloudy, with stray showers possible. Temperatures look very warm both days, with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.
Another cold front arrives Sunday night. Some showers appear possible along the front through Monday morning. Monday afternoon looks drier and colder as the front pushes southeast of our area. High temperatures may only be in the 50s Monday afternoon, and temperatures fall into 30s Monday night. Tuesday remains cool, but temperatures trend warmer Wednesday and Thursday with a mix of sun and clouds.
