Prattville police say a Prattville High School teacher is one of five suspected online child sex predators who have been arrested.

Autauga County Schools has confirmed that one of the suspects arrested, Brian Pittman, is a teacher and a former coach. The school’s website lists him as a business teacher.

Besides Pittman, the others arrested are Aron Clay, Kircharr Black, Jemaine Lyles and Jeffrey Beasley.

Police say all five are charged with one count each of electronic solicitation of a child and traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act. They are being held in the Elmore County Jail on a $90,000 bond each.

Police say Pittman’s arrest does not involve a student.

Autauga County Schools has released this statement, saying in part:

“First and foremost, student safety is a top priority for Autauga County Schools. Any actions that jeopardize that safety are dealt with swiftly and to the full extent of district policy and state law.
At this time, there is no indication that this situation involves any students. The district is working in full cooperation with the Prattville Police Department and other law enforcement authorities. Mr. Pittman has been placed on administrative leave and removed from campus.”
