Man arrested for burglary of storage units in Lee County
A man has been arrested for burglarizing two storage units in Lee County over the weekend.
The Lee County Sheriffs Office says it received a call that two storage units, rented by a nonprofit, had been burglarized Saturday.
The sheriff’s office says around $2100 worth of items had been stolen.
After reviewing video, investigators developed a suspect and a possible location of where the stolen items were. Investigators identified the suspect as 37-year-old Stephen Hammock, Junior of Phenix City. He was arrested Monday, March 16th, at his home.
Investigators say the stolen property has been recovered from Hammock’s home and an additional storage unit.
Hammock, Junior is charged with two counts of Burglary 3rd Degree and one count of Theft of Property 2nd Degree.
He is behind bars at the Lee County Detention Center on a $9,000 bond.
The stolen property has been returned to the non-profit.
