Still cool Wednesday, no rain and warming up through this weekend
Montgomery tied the March 18th record low temperature of 30° early Wednesday morning. That record was originally set in 1902 and tied in 1941. Wednesday afternoon remains cool with highs in the low 60s despite sunshine mixed with some fair-weather clouds. Wednesday night lows range from the mid to upper 30s with a mostly clear sky. Some frost may form early Thursday morning across east Alabama. A frost advisory goes into effect overnight there.
Temperatures return to near-normal Thursday afternoon, with highs in the low 70s. Spring begins Friday, and our weather certainly looks spring-like here in central and south Alabama, with high temperatures near 80°. Our area remains dry with sunshine and fair-weather clouds at times for the rest of the week. This weekend looks dry and very warm with high temperatures in the low to mid 80s. Otherwise, Saturday and Sunday look partly to mostly sunny.
Our area likely remains mainly dry next week. A much weaker cold front may swing through central and south Alabama Monday into Tuesday. However, temperatures remain fairly warm behind this front, with highs still in the mid to upper 70s Tuesday. A few stray showers appear possible Monday and Tuesday due to the front, although models inconsistently show that scenario. High temperatures return to the low 80s for the latter half of next week.
