Mostly sunny, dry, warmer weather through Friday and the weekend

Thursday morning started cold, with lows in the low to mid 30s. A frost advisory was in effect along and east of I-65 for central Alabama until 8AM. However, temperatures were in the low and mid 60s at noon, already equaling or exceeding Wednesday’s high temperatures. Thursday afternoon looks mainly sunny and seasonable, with high temperatures in the low 70s. Thursday night looks mainly clear and cool, with lows in the low to mid 40s.

Spring begins Friday, and it looks very spring-like for the vernal equinox across central and south Alabama. Temperatures approach 80° during the afternoon with a mostly sunny sky. Temperatures cool back into the low 50s Friday night with a mainly clear sky. The weekend also looks mostly sunny and dry with even warmer temperatures. High temperatures range from the low to mid 80s Saturday and Sunday.

Another cold front arrives early next week, though this front looks much weaker than the one early this week which brought another winter blast. High temperatures likely remain in the upper 70s through Wednesday after the front pushes through our area. Rain looks unlikely Monday into Tuesday due to the front, but cloud-cover may increase a bit. The tail end of next week also looks mainly dry and warm, with high temperatures in the low 80s.
