ACTION 8 UPDATE: Gas leak repaired in Pike Road

ACTION 8 UPDATE:

The gas leak in Pike Road that closed off traffic for several hours Wednesday has now been fixed.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office says the stretch of the road between Ray Thorington Road and Pine Acres Road has also reopened.

No other details have been made available at this time.

Crews are on the scene of a gas leak in Pike Road.

It happened on Pine Acres Road. That area is between Bon Terre Boulevard and Ray Thorington Road.

Pike Road Fire Captain David Hughes tells Action 8 News that a construction crew hit one of the main lines causing the leak.

Pike Road Fire and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office are blocking traffic in the area.

Capt. Hughes says Spire is on the scene addressing the problem. Spire officials say it may be later in the day or early evening for repairs to be complete.

Officials are asking people to avoid the area at this time.
