WETUMPKA, Ala. (WAKA) – First Methodist Church in Wetumpka has marked Good Friday with a Cross Walk, an event the church has held each year since 2018.
A group left the church today, walking and carrying a cross from the church across the bridge around the circle on Company Street, through downtown Wetumpka. The group stopped to pray along the way.
“We just like to go out and share our faith with people and pray for our community and pray for those that we will run into along the way, but especially for the businesses, the merchants and all the people that really make Wetumpka grow and flourish ,” Rev. Matt Albritton told Action 8 News. “We’re just trying to share the love of Jesus Christ with everyone we meet.”
Rev. Albritton says students had their own Cross Walk with the youth pastor.
Last week, they took flowers out to the various businesses and shared with them that they were going to be coming by today, Good Friday, to pray for the businesses and employees for God‘s blessings upon them.
