Pike Road Firehouse Subs celebrates ribbon cutting

PIKE ROAD, Ala. (WAKA) – A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Monday for the new Firehouse Subs in Pike Road.

The national sandwich restaurant is located in the new Merry Corners development at the corner of Vaughn Road and Pike Road.

The restaurant is co-owned by Paul and Rayleen Luis, who calls the Town of Pike Road home. Staff members with the Pike Road Fire Department even got to weigh-in on the decor inside.

The Luis’ say they have hired a number of Pike Road High School students and they plan to hire more because they want to invest in local young people.

At the end of the year, Firehouse Subs will be donating to the Public Safety Foundation, which provides money to support first responders in the community.
