Autism Support of Alabama to host Autism Walk in Montgomery
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – April is Autism Acceptance Month and Autism Support of Alabama will be hosting its annual Walks for Autism in four cities across Alabama.
The Montgomery walk will take place on Saturday, April 25 from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Bell Road YMCA.
Autism Support of Alabama is the state’s leading nonprofit for autism advocacy, programs and support. Officials say 1 in every 36 children are diagnosed with autism, so the walk allows the community to show their support while connecting with valuable resources.
Action 8’s Estee Morrison sat down with Dr. Riane Hinton and Chenique Jeffress to learn more about this year’s walk. You can watch that interview above.
