Diageo North America officially opens alcohol manufacturing facility in Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – Diageo North America officially cut the ribbon on its new manufacturing and warehousing facility in Montgomery.

The 360,000 square-foot facility will create 100 full time jobs in the Capital City and have a multi-million case annual production capacity.

The $415 million investment also supported 750 jobs during the construction phase.

As part of its broader commitment to supporting Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Minority‑Serving Institutions, Diageo says it has invested $750,000 across Alabama A&M University, Alabama State University, and Tuskegee University, providing scholarships and financial support to students and helping strengthen pathways to future career opportunities.

Diageo Montgomery operations features five on-site automated guided vehicles, which support lower-carbon operations by safely and intelligently transported pallets throughout the site.

It also features advanced technology in high-speed bottling lines that enhances rinsing and inspection capabilities, while increasing bottle size changeover speed and liquid bleeding accuracy.

Diageo officials say the Montgomery location was chosen because of its access to local transport infrastructure, including road and rail.

Diageo is a global leader in beverage alcohol with a collection of brands including Johnnie Walker, Crown Royal, Bulleit and Buchanan’s whiskies, Smirnoff and Ketel One vodkas, Casamigos and Don Julio tequilas, Captain Morgan, Baileys, Tangueray and Guinness.
