Cloudy, cool, rain likely Friday/Friday night; Sunshine this weekend
Cloudy, cool, and wet best describes the rest of Friday. Some rain had already moved across central and south Alabama late Thursday night into Friday morning. That resulted in rain totals of one tenth to one quarter of an inch in some locations. However, rain totals become much higher through Friday night, with around 1-2″ forecast along and south of highway 80 through Saturday morning. Around half an inch to one inch falls north of highway 80.
Otherwise, the sky remains overcast Friday with high temperatures in the 60s. Besides rain, Friday night remains cloudy with lows in the low to mid 50s. Showers linger early Saturday morning, but rain departs our area by midday. Clouds linger Saturday morning, but sunshine increases Saturday afternoon. Temperatures warm into the low 70s. Saturday night looks clear and quite cool, with lows in the mid to upper 40s. Sunday looks mostly sunny with highs in the 70s.
Temperatures trend warmer early next week, though Monday morning lows fall into the 40s again. Monday looks partly cloudy and dry with high temperatures near 80°. Tuesday remains dry, but another cold front arrives Wednesday night. Showers and storms become scattered about in advance of it late Wednesday. Rain remains possible through Thursday morning. The end of next week looks drier and a bit cooler behind the front.
