8 ON YOUR SIDE CONSUMER ALERT: Ford recalls 179,000 vehicles
8 ON YOUR SIDE CONSUMER ALERT (WAKA) – Ford is recalling more than 179,000 pickup trucks and SUVs.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the vehicles have an issue with the front seat that can increase the risk of injury in a crash.
The recall involves about 117,000 2024-2026 Ford Bronco SUVs and more than 62,255 2024-2026 Ford Ranger pickups.
The NHTSA says the vehicles have front seat height-adjustable pivot link bolts that may loosen or dislodge.
Owners will get a letter to tell them to take their vehicle to a dealer to inspect the bolts. Any bolts that fail the inspection will be replaced for free.
Ford is expected to send letters this month regarding the safety risk, then additional letters are expected to go out in July confirming the repair is available.
