Elderly swamp survivor praises search crew volunteers and his dog

It’s now been about a week since an elderly Dallas Co. man was released from the hospital following an overnight stay in a swamp.
Ninety-two year old Elton Ralston went for a walk on the family farm with his dog, Abby. He got lost in a nearby swamp.
Ralston was stuck in the swamp for about 30 hours before he was rescued by search crews.
“I just thank everyone who showed up to help find me,” said Ralston.
“I do appreciate it very much, I am indebted to them.”
Ralston and Abby have already started back walking on the farm — but they’re restricting those walks to the roadways.
