WATCH: Severe storm brings flooding at Alabama State House
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – A severe thunderstorm brought a flash flood to the Alabama State House, which has become a common occurrence in recent years.
While the Alabama Legislature was in special session this afternoon, the rains came and the waters rose.
This video, furnished to Action 8 News by State Sen. Jay Hovey, shows the water next to the Alabama State House, where downpours regularly lead to flooding.
The problem will soon be solved when the Legislature moves to the new Alabama State House, which is still under construction, and the current State House is demolished.
