ACTION 8 UPDATE: Fugitive wanted in Prattville captured in multi-agency effort

PRATTVILLE, Ala. (WAKA) – A fugitive who was wanted by Prattville police is now in custody, thanks to an effort of several law enforcement agencies.
Prattville police thanked several agencies for helping with the capture of Devontay Jones. They include the Autauga County Sheriff’s Office, Elmore County Sheriff’s Office, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, U.S. Marshals Service and the Central Alabama Community College campus police.
Jones was wanted by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant for certain persons forbidden to carry a gun, weapon offenses, eluding law enforcement and probation violations.
Officers had last seen Jones yesterday in Prattville, just north of exit 181 on the side of Interstate 65.
