Over 700 students graduate from Auburn University at Montgomery Saturday

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – Students all over the country are graduating this spring to embark on a new chapter in life.

Action 8 was able to attend the Auburn University at Montgomery graduation ceremony Saturday. The university had over 700 graduates this spring that walked the stage.

The keynote speaker was a former AUM graduate and Major League Baseball player Pookie Wilson. Families and friends across the River Region all attended to see their loved ones receive their degrees and become apart of the AUM alumni family.

“I hope they keep in touch with AUM and remember their roots, and I hope they remember to give back to the people in the community and people that made a difference in their lives. I hope they will then do that for someone else,” said Chancellor at Auburn University at Montgomery, Carl Stockton.

“Perseverance, staying disciplined, and helping people around you, those are the three things that I hope they leave with today,” said Pookie Wilson, former MLB player, AUM graduate, and keynote speaker.

AUM is home to more than 5,000 students.
