Repaving project beginning on Interstate 85 in Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – A repaving project on a stretch of Interstate 85 through Montgomery is beginning.

The project starts tonight, weather permitting.

The project includes resurfacing and traffic striping on I-85 from Ann Street (Exit 3) to Eastern Boulevard (Exit 6), according to the Alabama Department of Transportation.

Crews will limit lane closures to Sundays through Thursdays from 7PM to 6AM.

ALDOT urges drivers to plan accordingly for possible delays and be mindful of people and equipment in the work zone.

The approximately $3.9 million project is expected to be completed in the fall.
