Montgomery police vehicle involved in wreck

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – A Montgomery police vehicle has been involved in a wreck that has left another driver seriously injured.

Montgomery police Lt. Tina McGriff tells Action 8 News the wreck happened just before 9PM tonight. It occurred in the area of Troy Highway near East South Boulevard.

McGriff says the police vehicle was involved in a wreck with a car. She said that while the officer suffered only minor injuries, a man who was driving the other vehicle suffered life-threatening injuries.

McGriff says both drivers were taken to a hospital. ALEA will now investigate the case.
