City of Dadeville moves one step closer to building a new civic center
DADEVILLE, Ala. (WAKA) – The City of Dadeville is now one step closer to building a new civic center/theatre.
The Dadeville City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to move forward with the process to build a 500 seat facility to host high end entertainment and community events.
Mayor Dr. Chuck Ledbetter says the hope is that the event space will bring people to the city to experience their food, festivities, fellowship and much more.
The building will be located on Cussetta Street on the site of the old Coca-Cola Bottling Company that was there from 1912 to 1934. That location is in the downtown area near Broadnax Street.
City officials say the old bottling company use to provide 300 cases of Coca-Cola per day to men who were building Martin Dam at the time.
