City of Troy Honors Fallen Officers
The City of Troy recognizing its fallen officers with a celebration of life and service for those lost in the line of duty.
A monument which stands just outside the public safety building is a testament of honor and sacrifice for those who were lost in their service to protect and serve the community of Troy.
“Some of our fallen officers’ families come here for this memorial”, says Police Chief Danny Barron, “and we look forward to seeing them every year. I think it’s so important to remember the sacrifice that our officers have made to this community.”
Troy is considered fortunate as a the city has not lost an officer in the line of duty since Thanksgiving Day, November 1981.
A total of  five officers have been lost in the line of duty ranging from 1905 to 1981.
