Sunshine, low humidity Friday; Warmer, dry this weekend
Friday morning started on a cool note across central and south Alabama, with low temperatures in the mid to upper 40s. Montgomery fell to 47°, which set a new record low temperature for May 15th. The previous record low was 48° from 1888, 1910, and 1917. Friday remains mainly sunny with low humidity and high temperatures in the low to mid 80s. Friday night looks mostly clear with lows in the mid to upper 50s.
Temperatures trend warmer this weekend, with highs in the upper 80s Saturday. Temperatures may be very near 90° Sunday afternoon. However, our weekend weather remains rain-free. Although, Saturday looks like a partly to mostly cloudy day. On the other hand, Sunday looks partly to mostly sunny. Overnight temperatures trend warmer too, with lows in the low 60s Saturday night, and mid 60s Sunday night.
Chances for rain return next week. However, Monday and Tuesday still look mainly dry with high temperatures in the low 90s. On Wednesday, models show a cold front approaching Alabama. It looks like showers and storms become widely scattered across central and south Alabama during the day. The front likely stalls somewhere across the state next week, resulting in lingering chances for isolated showers and storms through next weekend.
