Two people dead in overnight shooting in Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – Montgomery police are investigating a shooting that has left two people dead.

Montgomery police Lt. Joseph Dunn told Action 8 News that at around 11:30PM last night, police and fire/rescue units were called to a home on Simmons Drive.

Dunn says they found a woman with a fatal gunshot wound. In addition, they found a man with a self-inflicted, life-threatening gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital for treatment where he later died.

Dunn says there is no further information available at this time.
