Boy rescued from Montgomery community center pool

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – The Montgomery Fire/Rescue Department has rescued a boy in a water‑related emergency at the McIntyre Community Center on Hugh Street.

Just before 2:30 this afternoon, units from Montgomery Fire/Rescue discovered a juvenile male submerged in the deep end of the facility’s pool. The pool was not open to the public at the time.

The boy was brought to the surface, where CPR was performed. Advanced Life Support care was provided on scene. The boy was taken to Jackson Hospital’s Emergency Department in life‑threatening condition by paramedics.

The scene has been turned over to the Montgomery Police Department for further investigation.
