Gov. Kay Ivey presents America 250 Alabama Celebration at Capitol
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – Gov. Kay Ivey, legendary country music superstar Randy Owen and other dignitaries helped present the America 250 Alabama Celebration at the Capitol this morning.
Gov. Ivey unveiled a massive 250th edition of the U.S. flag that will hang between the columns of the Capitol this summer.
The 151st Army Band performed, as well as Owen. The program included Sen. Arthur Orr (R-Decatur), chairman of the Alabama USA Semiquincentennial Commission, Marion Military Institute, Amelia Alverson, a Pell City High School student, Eagle Scout Evan Parker and Jimmy Rane of Great Southern Wood.
The celebration closed with an F-35 flyover.
