ACTION 8 UPDATE: Montgomery police issue correction regarding pedestrian accident
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – The Montgomery Police Department has issued a correction to an earlier announcement regarding a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle.
The original announcement said the victim had died. Today, the police department said the victim is alive and suffered only non-life threatening injuries.
Police say the accident happened in the area of Eastern Boulevard and Troy Highway at about 8:50PM on Wednesday, May 20. They say they found 28-year-old James Cornelius Moorer with injuries.
Police say they deeply regret this error and extends their most sincere and heartfelt apologies to Mr. Moorer, his family and the community for the distress and confusion this misinformation has caused.
