Lowndes Co. Sheriff’s Office investigates a rash of shootings
From the West Alabama Newsroom–
A Selma man is killed — and several other people are injured — in a series of shootings in Lowndes County.
Five separate shootings happened in the county — in the span of a week. One of them fatal.
“I wanted to take this opportunity to reassure our community,” said Sheriff Chris West.
“We’re on top of each one of these incidents.”
The fatal shooting happened Friday night during the Memorial Day holiday weekend at a night club on the 700 block of Freedom Road in White Hall.
The victim is identified as 27 year old Kenzavin Jeremane Andrews of Selma.
“We’re still looking for help from the public,” said Lt. Tony Green.
“If you were at the Deluxe Lounge on the night of the shooting, the 22nd of May, we would like for you to give the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department a call. We would like to speak to you.”
Twenty-three year old Quentavious Deon Seawright of Mosses was shot several times on Sunday May 24th — at a house off Grant Road in Mosses.
“Individuals actually kicked the door in, fired several shots striking one individual. He was shot multiple time. He was then transported to the hospital. My last information on him, he’s doing well, but he’s still recovering,” said Green.
A 19 year old woman and three juveniles were hurt in three other shootings authorities are investigating.
