Alabama’s first College World Series trip since 1999 ends with blowout losses

Austin

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Alabama’s trip to the College World Series was a short and disappointing one with two blowout losses to SEC rivals.

Today, the Crimson Tide faced Texas. The Longhorns’ Adrian Rodriguez hit for the cycle and drove in seven runs, Ruger Riojas pitched six strong innings as Texas knocked Alabama out of the College World Series with a 14-2 victory.

The Crimson Tide (42-21) went two-and-out in their first CWS appearance since 1999.

Today’s loss followed a 9-0 shutout defeat to Oklahoma on Saturday.
