Commercial vehicle catches on fire in I-85 accident
MACON COUNTY, Ala. (WAKA) – State troopers spent part of Father’s Day dealing with a major vehicle fire on I-85 South.
The single-vehicle accident happened around 2:39 p.m. Sunday near Exit 26. This is the same exit to go to Tallassee.
Troopers say the commercial vehicle involved in the crash caught on fire and became completely engulfed in flames.
Troopers closed part of the interstate to clear the scene, but it has since reopened.
Officials with the Shorter Volunteer Fire Department say the driver of the vehicle was not injured.
