Auburn man arrested after hitting victim with car

AUBURN, Ala. (WAKA) – Auburn police have arrested a man after they say he hit a man with his car.

Officers responded Thursday to the 200 block of West Magnolia Avenue after receiving a call that a person had been hit by a vehicle.

Once they arrived, they found a 68-year-old man lying in the driveaway. After receiving medical assistance, the victim was taken to a local hospital where he remains in critical but stable condition.

Authorities arrested 28-year-old Michael Alexander Sherrill, of Auburn, at the scene.

He is currently in the Lee County Jail on 2nd degree assault charges. His bond is $25,000.
