National HIV Testing Day Basketball Tourament to tip off this weekend
Several local organizations are partnering together to host a community basketball tournament to raise HIV awareness.
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – The National HIV Testing Day Basketball Tournament will tip off this weekend to promote the importance of HIV awareness.
Guests can enjoy an afternoon full of basketball, giveaways, games and free HIV testing on Friday, June 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kershaw YMCA in Montgomery.
Alabama ranks among the states with the highest rates of HIV diagnoses throughout the country. Organizers say this event is a great way to encourage HIV screening, raise awareness and encourage early action in young adults.
Several local organizations are partnering together to host this event including the Alabama Department of Public Health, Central Alabama Alliance
Resource & Advocacy Center, She Looks Like Me and more.
