America250: Fireworks selling fast in our area
WETUMPKA, Ala. (WAKA) – As people get ready to celebrate America’s 250th birthday, fireworks sales are brisk in our area.
Action 8 News stopped at Big Daddy’s Fireworks in Wetumpka to see what people are buying this year.
The new hot item so far has been the Evergreen Majesty, which fires off 28 artillery shells one at a time.
Most of the fireworks also come with a QR code on the package, so customers can scan and see exactly what the fireworks will look like when they are launched.
“I do like to use the QR codes so I can look to see what the fireworks are going to look like before we take it home,” shopper Hilary Hoover said. “I think the 250th does make a difference because I think that people are going to celebrate a little bit more this year because of that.”
Before you purchase fireworks, check to see that they are legal to set off in your area. They aren’t allowed in the city of Montgomery.
