WHAT’S HAPPENING (WAKA) – You have plenty of ways to show your patriotic spirit in the River Region as America celebrates its 250th birthday!
Montgomery Whitewater is hosting its “Red, White and Tube” event, giving you the chance to get wet, cool down and have fun.
At Montgomery Motor Speedway, you can catch racing action on July 4, followed by fireworks.
The 50th Cloverdale-Idlewild 4th of July parade will be Saturday in Montgomery, with cars, bikes and pets dressed in patriotic colors.
The City of Montgomery will hold its Independence Day Celebration Saturday at Cramton Bowl, featuring live music from the 151st Alabama Army National Guard Band, followed by fireworks.
The celebration starts Friday in Prattville with a concert and drone show at Stanley-Jensen Stadium featuring Blackberry Breeze. Then on Saturday, there will be a parade in downtown Prattville, the Lions Club Barbecue at Pratt Park and fireworks at the Clock Tower.

In Wetumpka, head to downtown Saturday night for music, children’s activities and fireworks at Gold Star Park.
