Hatcher family’s barbeque legacy lives on in Selma

From the West Alabama Newsroom–
A well-known Selma businesswoman is laid to rest over the weekend. But the legacy she left behind continues to live on.
Lula Hatcher took her mother’s dream and built it into family legacy.
Lannie’s Bar-B-Que has been feeding families in Selma for over 80 years. And during that time — it’s become widely recognized — for having some of the best barbeque in the entire country.
“It’s the sauce,” said Floyd Hatcher.
“My grandmother went to bed one night and woke up and she said the Lord put it on her heart and in her mind about the sauce that we have. And that’s her recipe that we’ve been using all these years.”
Lula Hatcher died last week — and was laid to rest Saturday morning.
She was 93.
