Hope Hull residents vote to move forward with incorporation

HOPE HULL, Ala. (WAKA) – Hope Hull voters went to the polls Tuesday to overwhelmingly support moving forward with incorporation.

Results provided by the Montgomery County Election Center say residents voted 154 to 9 to establish the town.

While voters approved the measure. it is not a done deal yet.

Under Alabama law, a proposed town must have at least 300 people in order to incorporate. The Montgomery County probate judge will order a census of those living in the proposed corporate limits.

If the judge finds the requirements are met, an order of incorporation will be issued.

Following the order, a special election must be held within 30 days to elect the town’s first mayor and town council.
