Prattville woman arrested for retail theft at Millbrook Walmart

MILLBROOK, Ala. (WAKA) – A Prattville woman was taken into custody after police say she stole multiple items at the Walmart in Millbrook.

Millbrook Police Chief P.K. Johnson says his officers responded to the department store on Kelley Boulevard with regard to a theft of property in progress.

Loss prevention personnel told police that they saw a woman enter the business, walk around the store for several hours while concealing items inside of her purse and a bag she got while inside.

Chief Johnson says the woman proceeded through the self-checkout, where she scanned and paid for a limited amount of items that were in possession.

The woman then exited the store with items that were determined to be in excess of $1500.

The suspect, identified as 43-year-old Brandy Barlow, was taken into custody and charged with 2nd degree Retail Theft.

Barlow was taken to the Elmore County Jail on a $15,000 bond.
