18-year-old shot in head in Selma

SELMA, Ala. (WAKA) – Selma police say an 18-year-old is recovering after being shot in the head.

Police say they were called to Vaughan Regional Medical Center Tuesday night, July 14. That’s where they found Jarron Stallworth, Jr., receiving treatment for a gunshot wound.

When officers spoke with Stallworth, they say he was alert and gave officers a brief statement of what he remembered.

He wasn’t able to describe the suspect or provide a possible reason for the shooting, police say.

Their preliminary investigation indicates that he was shot while walking toward the GWC Homes public housing community.
