Millbrook police seeking Walmart theft suspect

MILLBROOK, Ala. (WAKA) – Millbrook police need your help finding a female suspect in a theft investigation at the city’s Walmart Supercenter.

Police say on July 2, the suspect entered the store, selected merchandise and proceeded to a checkout lane.

They say during the transaction, she presented two new prepaid Visa gift cards and had a total of $1,000 loaded onto the cards.

Police say the suspect then deceived the cashier into processing the entire transaction as a cash purchase without actually providing payment. After placing the loaded prepaid cards in her pocket, the suspect left the store with the merchandise and the activated gift cards without paying, police say.

Investigators are asking anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information about the incident to contact CrimeStoppers at (334) 215-STOP. You can remain anonymous. Information leading to the identification and arrest of the suspect will result in a cash reward.
