SEC Media Days 2026: Kentucky hoping for turnaround under new coach
TAMPA, Fla. (WAKA) – Action 8 Lace Up Sports is in Tampa, Florida, for SEC Media Days, where Kentucky hopes a new coach will bring the Wildcats a turnaround.
Will Stein replaced Mark Stoops as head coach. Stoops was fired for missing bowl games in consecutive seasons, despite being the winningest coach in Kentucky history and the longest-tenured coach in the SEC. Stein comes to Lexington after being offensive coordinator at Oregon.
