Tropical Depression Two stays to our south, weather as usual for us
As of 10AM Monday 7/20/26, Tropical Depression Two was located in the northeast Gulf near the Florida “big bend”. The storm was only crawling northwest at 3 mph. The National Hurricane Center forecast suggests Two continues generally west into the north-central Gulf through Wednesday. While tropical-storm-force wind gusts and heavy rain appear possible by Wednesday along the Alabama and northwest Florida coast, it looks like routine July weather for our area.
Monday morning was dry and partly to mostly sunny across central and south Alabama. Temperatures were near 90° at midday, and could reach the mid 90s during the afternoon. Meanwhile, heat indices may exceed 100°. Isolated showers or storms appear possible, but manly locations remain dry and hot during the afternoon into the evening. Monday night looks partly cloudy to mostly clear with lows in the low to mid 70s.
Our weather looks similar on Tuesday and Wednesday, with just isolated afternoon showers/storms and highs in the mid 90s. The heat may be a bit less intense late this week on Thursday and Friday, with isolated to widely scattered showers and storms both days.
