SEC Media Days: All eyes on Lane Kiffin as he takes over at LSU
TAMPA, Fla. (WAKA) – Action 8 Lace Up Sports is in Tampa, Florida, for SEC Media Days, where the head coach being watched most closely may be LSU’s Lane Kiffin.
Kiffin creates a buzz wherever he goes and controversy often follows. After deciding to leave Ole Miss just before the playoffs last season, many wondered how he would address his sudden exit as the Rebels’ head coach when facing the swarm of media.
Action 8 Sports Analyst John Longshore says Kiffin filabustered on stage like a politician and noted that Kiffin says he’s off of social media. But he did say he regretted how he left the Rebels.
While there’s been talk that Kiffin will bring immediate results to LSU after the firing of Brian Kelly, Longshore wonders whether new starting quarterback Sam Leavitt, who transferred from Arizona State, will have enough talent around him for the Tigers to compete for the SEC title or a spot in the playoffs this year.
