Dangerous Heat Tuesday
A surge of dangerous summer heat has arrived and it will linger into midweek.  A heat advisory is in effect for our entire area through Tuesday evening. Temps will soar into the upper 90s but when you factor in the humidity it will feel more like 105 to 109.  We suggest you limit time exposed to this type heat.
In the meantime, we expect a mostly clear sky with warm and humid conditions overnight. Any evening showers will weaken and die out shortly after sunset. Temps will hover in the mid to upper 70s for overnight.
Dangerous heat will be in play for Tuesday.  Temps will climb into the mid and upper 90s for highs. Heat indices will range between 105 to 109. That’s in the danger zone and you should take precautions. It’s a good idea to limit time exposed to this type heat. You definitely want to stay hydrated. Maybe check on those who might not have adequate cooling in their home.
A frontal boundary will make a run at the state on Wednesday. Looks like it will advance southward and help increase the risk for showers and t-storms that afternoon. Some storms could be strong to possibly severe across Southeast Alabama. The main threat will be damaging wind gust.
The latter half of the week is looking quiet with lots of sunshine and hot temps. Lower to mid 90s are likely both Thursday and Friday. Rain chances will be rather slim.
Our weekend is setting up to be active with showers and t-storms both days. Another frontal boundary will move into the state. Periods of showers and t-storms are likely with this system.  The clouds and rain activity will help knock the heat down quite a bit. We may only see highs in the upper 80s both days.
