Guns & drugs seized during raid at a house in Selma

From the West Alabama Newsroom–

The city of Selma is a little safer tonight — after an anonymous tip helps the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office take several illegal firearms off the street.

Waka Dcguns0805 PkgThree assault rifles — two 9mm pistols, one with a switch conversion device — and several containers of marijuana — were seized by Dallas Co. deputies during a raid at a house on the 100 block of Pike Road in Selma earlier this week.

Three people inside the house during the raid were arrested on various charges.

Latrell White is charged with possession of an altered firearm — possession of a switch device — and possession of marijuana.

“Also in the house was a Jalen Stewart. Jalen Stewart was actually an employee o the Dallas Co. Sheriff’s Department. Not a certified deputy, he was courthouse security. He was fired immediately. We’re not going to tolerate that here. As far as being in law enforcement, I think personally you should be held to a higher standard than other people,” said Granthum.

“Also in the same house at the time was a Kejuan Ervin. He’s a 25 year old male. He had a probation violation on him. So, he was taken into custody. But there’s also some pending charges out of Montgomery on this subject.”

Granthum says the raid was the result of information obtained from an anonymous tip from the public.
