Montgomery off-duty officer charged and relieved of duty

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – A Montgomery police officer has been relieved of duty related to an off-duty incident.

An MPD spokesperson says the department initiated disciplinary proceedings against 35-year-old Ineka Skipper after she was charged with 3rd degree domestic violence-criminal mischief and 3rd degree domestic violence-menacing.

The investigation started on August 10 after receiving notification of the charges from the magistrate’s office.

Skipper, who was on extended military leave at the time of the incident, turned herself in on August 11 and booked into the Montgomery Municipal Jail.

MPD says Skipper joined the force in 2014 and has been assigned to the Training and Career Development Bureau.
