1 dead, 3 injured in Dallas County crash
DALLAS COUNTY, Ala. (WAKA) – A two-vehicle crash in Dallas County has claimed the life of a Selma woman.
It happened around 3:00 p.m. Saturday on U.S. 80 near the 90 mile marker, approximately four miles east of Selma.
Troopers say 34-year-old Taylor Layne Owens Averette was fatally injured when the pickup she was a passenger in hit another vehicle. Averette was pronounced dead on the scene.
The driver of the second vehicle, along with a passenger, were both injured and taken to Vaughan Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The driver of the pickup was also injured and taken to Vaughan Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
