Central Alabama Community Foundation, Project Red Clay award grants in Lowndes County
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – Two local organizations dedicated to helping improve the lives of people throughout the River Region awarded two grants in Lowndes County this week.
The Central Alabama Community Foundation and Project Red Clay awarded $75,000 to the Organized Community Action Program and $50,000 to Hope Inspired Ministries.
Organized Community Action Program says it will use the money to help assist low-income families in Lowndes County with power costs and repair or replace windows, HVAC units, roof repairs and more.
Hope Inspired Ministries says it will use the grant to support a full-time life coach at both Calhoun and Central High School.
The life coaches will help students with character development, workforce readiness, resume building and provide one-on-one mentorship.
