Suspect in Perry Co. stabbing arrested for murder

An Irondale woman is behind bars tonight in connection with a 2025 homicide case in Perry County.

Chief Deputy Willie Walton says 33 year old Anastassja Mia Cooper is accused of stabbing Jeffery Holifield to death back in November of 2025.

Walton says Cooper was Holifield’s girlfriend at the time of the incident — and fled the state after the incident.

He says Cooper turned herself in to the State Bureau of Investigation — on the advice of counsel.

Cooper is now being held in the Marengo County Jail without bond — charged with intentional murder.
