8 On Your Side: Publix making changes at checkout
8 ON YOUR SIDE (WAKA) – Publix is making a change to its checkout lines in an effort to improve the customer experience.
The company says it is removing the 10-item limit for its express lanes. That means shoppers no longer have to count the items in the buggy to see if they can use the express lane.
Now, you can go through the express lane even with more than 10 items.
In a statement, Publix says this change is meant to improve efficiency and flow.
Publix has more than 1,400 stores across eight states, including 96 stores in Alabama. It is based in Lakeland, Florida.
