Suspected drug traffickers arrested in Selma sting operation
From the West Alabama Newsroom–
Two Selma men are behind bars tonight accused of several drug-related charges including drug trafficking.
Sheriff Mike Granthum says 47 year old Jamie Craig and 43 year old DeAndre Hatcher were arrested Friday — during a joint sting operation by the Dallas Co. Sheriff’s Office and Selma PD.
The sting happened at a house on the 2700 block of North Broad Street.
Granthum says investigators monitored the residence for several weeks — and gathered enough information to get a search warrant from a judge.
“It was just like an open air market. Come and get your dope. Drive thru get your dope and leave,” said Granthum.
“We got together, we put our resources together. We went in did the search warrant and we got the perpetrators out of the neighborhood. So, when you work together and do things together, good things happen. If we can curtail the drug problem, it would solve most of our crime around here.”
Craig is being held on over $3 million dollars bond.
And Hatcher is being held on over $1.5 million dollars bond.
